The price, plainly
$24.95 for 400 g works out to about 12 cents per 2 g dose. Api-Bioxal runs $54.99 for 350 g at most suppliers — roughly 31 cents a dose, for a product that leaves a charred residue you scrape out of the vaporizer. Vaporizer dose
- The label: 4 g of powder per deep brood chamber, and 4 g per deep box is the maximum legal dose.
- What we recommend: 2 g per brood box — a single deep gets 2 g, a double deep gets 4 g. It is the dose most of our customers have run for years, and why the InstantVap plunger adjusts from 1 to 4 g. Step up to the full 4 g per box for a heavy infestation.
- Seal the entrance, vaporize, keep the hive closed for 10 minutes.
- Oxalic acid reaches mites on adult bees, not mites under capped brood. One treatment does the most work when the colony is broodless. With brood present, run a spaced series — the Treatment Series Planner builds the schedule and tells you how many grams you'll need.

Is EZ-OX legal to use for beekeeping in the US?
Yes. EZ-OX is EPA-registered (Reg. No. 101743-2) for varroa mite control in honey bee colonies. Only EPA-registered oxalic acid may legally be used in a hive; hardware-store wood bleach and unlabeled "technical grade" oxalic acid are not registered and using them in a hive violates federal law.
Do I need an InstantVap to use EZ-OX?
No. EZ-OX works in any oxalic acid vaporizer — InstantVap, ProVap, Varrox, Varrox Eddy, or a pan-style wand. The label rate is the same regardless of the tool.
Can I use EZ-OX with honey supers on?
