Oxalic acid vaporization is highly effective at killing mites on adult bees — but timing is key. It cannot reach mites under wax-capped brood, so the best results come when the colony is broodless or has minimal capped brood.

- During winter when brood levels drop naturally
- Right after capturing or installing a swarm
- Following a natural brood break or requeening period
These windows give oxalic acid the best chance to reach every mite — helping protect your bees without residue or long treatments.

I have used it once and it worked good and fast, except the brass tube at the end, kept getting plugged up with oxalic acid that didn’t get all the way melted into vapor. I was told that a
"I was told that a Milwaukee M18 5. 0Ah battery at full charge should be able to treat approximately 20 hives using 4 grams per hive. In my experience, the battery died after treating only 5 hives. Even more concerning, the battery will no longer charge at all. When placed on the charger, it flashes red and green, indicating a battery fault. This battery is only about 6 months old and worked properly before using this vaporizer. A device at this price point should not drain a battery this quickly, nor should it permanently damage a premium Milwaukee battery. I have reached out to the company by email and text and have received no response. The owner has also not returned calls or messages using the contact information provided. Based on the significant gap between the advertised performance and real-world results, the lack of customer support, and the apparent damage to my battery, I cannot recommend this vaporizer."
